SATURDAY GRANDMA'S FRESH STRAWBERRY MOCHI

Note:  No mochi available on March 10,11 (Wed, Thur) and March 19, 20 (Fri, Sat).  Our Mochi Maker is on vacation.

Our Fresh Strawberry Mochi is available with red bean or Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate.  We use Kula Strawberries from Kula Country Farms on Maui.  WOW ONO!  Go to our MOCHIMENU Page for prices.

Mochi is normally available for pick up on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:00-5:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Orders should be placed 2 days in advance, however walk-in purchases are welcome if available.  We make mochi desserts in 2 different styles.  Daifuku is a soft mochi ball stuffed with different fillings including fresh strawberry, sweet potato, haupia and others.  Chi Chi Dango is a soft mochi rice cake flavored with liliko'i puree, strawberry puree, blueberry puree and more.  Our daifuku selections include:  FRESH STRAWBERRY, SWEET POTATO, SWEET POTATO HAUPIA, LILIKO'I CHEESECAKE,

CHOCOLATE CREAM HAUPIA, PEANUT BUTTER, MACADAMIA NUT, HAUPIA, TRUFFLES and more.  Our Chi Chi Dango selections include LILIKO'I, STRAWBERRY, BLUEBERRY, MACADAMIA NUT, CHOCOLATE HAUPIA and others.  Chi Chi Dango is available only on Friday & Saturdays and we alternate chi chi dango flavors weekly.  Please call 484-0052 for the flavors of the week or to place an order.  We currently do not take orders via our online store and we do not take email orders.  Prepayment by credit card for telephone orders of more than $50 are required unless customer is on our mailing list.  See our MOCHI MENU for prices.

Also new under our Saturday Grandma's label is our line of okoshi or puffed rice snack. 

 Macadamia Nut is our most popular flavor but also try our Furikake and Ginger.

Saturday Grandma's Super Sushi Vinegar was originally developed by Dee Hamada and her mom, Grandma Alice Yamanishi when they owned a very popular "mom and pop style" store.  The term "Saturday Grandma" was the name Dee Hamada's children (Adrienne, Terianne, and Kathryn) affectionately called Grandma Alice because they would go over weekly to her house for Saturday dinner.   Saturday Grandma's Super Sushi Vinegar is a versatile ingredient that can be used to make sushi, namasu (traditional pickled vegetable), salad dressings and more.  Hawaii's "okazuya style" sushi is a little sweeter than the traditional sushi from Japan.  Hawaii locals prefer SATURDAY GRANDMA'S Super Sushi Vinegar because it reminds them of the sushi from their favorite okazuya or the home made one that their mom or grandma made.
